ABOUT

Graham Davidson is a writer/illustrator based in the Australian town of East Maitland.

​

He's written junior and middle grade novels and numerous short stories. His debut sci-fi fantasy novel has been through several drafts and is nearing completion. He is also currently working on the second book in the Witches of the Cross-worlds series, Hunter.

​

In January, 2018, he worked with Emily S Smith to launch the childhood literacy initiative, Storytime Lane, which incorporates picture books written by Emily and illustrated by Graham. It also serves as a vehicle to publish his junior and middle grade novels. To learn more about Storytime Lane, click here.

An active member of the Hunter Writers Centre and NSW Writers Centre, he has over forty years experience as an advertising creative doing animation, direction, copy writing, and illustration work. You can see recent samples of Graham’s advertising work at holeycow.com.au​

In more recent years, he’s developed a love of writing, finding it the most rewarding of creative pursuits. In 2017, he was published in the YA anthology, Wish Upon a Southern Star, and his first attempt at writing a picture book was shortlisted in the Writers Unleashed picture book competition. In the same year, he was runner up in the annual Creative Kids Tales illustration competition.

Graham was published for the first time in the YA anthology of re-told fairy tales, Wish Upon a Southern Star with his story The Tale of Krinkle-myst, Cinderella, and the Prince. The anthology is a finalist in the 2018 Sir Julius Vogel Awards. You can find a review of it here.

The illustration of Rackus, Hero of the Universe was runner up in the 2017 Creative Kids Tales illustration comptetion.
